Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev match preview – Australian Open men’s final
The final day of the Australian Open brings us the last match of the tournament in Melbourne: the men’s final, where Jannik Sinner takes on Alexander Zverev for the title.
It’s going to be a brilliant match with plenty of excellent betting angles to take across tennis bookmakers.
Both Sinner and Zverev have played tremendously so far in Australia. Sinner has won six matches, dropping only one set, which was arguably his worst match of the week. Zverev has also won six matches, though he lost two sets and was not required to play the entirety of his semi-final. This was only one set against an injured Novak Djokovic, who managed to take him to the tiebreak.
Sinner is overall more impressive than Zverev. He is the defending champion; he knows what it is like to win this event, unlike Zverev, who has never won a Grand Slam despite playing in two finals.
There are bound to be some nerves for the German, which might impact him. There might be some rust after not playing a proper tennis match in a couple of days as well. However, he can draw inspiration from the 4-2 head-to-head against Sinner, even if he lost their most recent match.
The matchup overall, though, favours Sinner because he has more power, plays more aggressively, and is the better shot-maker between the two.
Australian Open men’s final predictions – Sinner v Zverev
Best bet: Sinner to win
This bet is very unsexy, but sometimes you just have to make such bets. It is also very likely to happen, which is the goal. You want to hit a bet, and if you want to hit a bet regarding this match, back Sinner to win.
The reason why backing Sinner is the right move is simple. The German can serve well and play well and get himself to a tiebreak, but at 6-5 when it really matters, do you trust him to hit that amazing forehand down the line? No, so back Sinner with Marantelli Bet.
Jannik Sinner to win
Next best: Over 36.5 games
Even though Sinner is largely expected to win by us and by many others, the match will not be easy for him. Zverev is good enough to make this rather complicated, which he has generally done in the past.
Both Grand Slam finals he played were five sets. He played Sinner very close last year in Cincinnati with the sets ending 7-6, 7-5, 7-6, so back the over here because the German is likely to win at least a set. If not, with the kind of line Marantelli Bet is offering, he can push it close through three tight sets.
Over 36.5 games
Best Value: Sinner to win 3-1
Picking the correct score in a tennis match is rarely a good idea unless you are convinced that a player will win in straight sets. However, there is good value here.
Sinner and Zverev have played a couple of matches where both players have won a set. Zverev is certainly good enough to win a set but not to win the match, not in this spot. If you agree that Sinner will win but you also think that Zverev will win a set, this bet has value at BetOnline.
