All Too Huiying a Derby prospect: Moore

Gary Moore is confident he has an autumn Derby contender in All Too Huiying but the trainer could also look to strike again with the colt this spring after a stakes win at Flemington.

All Too Huiying ($31) rallied in the straight under jockey Michael Walker to hold his rivals at bay in Thursday’s Seppelt Wines Stakes (1800m) for three-year-olds to win the Listed race by a short-neck over Black Sail.

Sky Boy came in another three quarters of a length away.

Moore said the Australian Derby in Sydney next autumn was on the radar but he will give serious consideration to extending the colt’s spring campaign to run in Saturday week’s Group Two Sandown Guineas (1600m).

“I’ll speak to the owners tonight and then we’ll make a decision about whether we go to the Sandown Guineas or whether we rest him,” Moore said.

Moore was confident of a good showing from the colt who was coming off provincial wins in NSW at Wyong and Hawkesbury at his past two starts.

“Looking at him before the race he had gone forward since he came down from Sydney,” Moore said.

“I think he’s got a bright future.

“Don’t forget this horse ran second in a Group Two in Brisbane as a two-year-old to Tangled and he’s really come to the fore now.

“We’re now riding him right on the speed.

“And what he did today, he’s a serious Derby horse for next year.”
