Alex Pereira stirs the pot ahead of Hill vs Prochazka at UFC 311
Alex Pereira has stoked a fire in Jamahal Hill ahead of UFC 311, with the reigning light heavyweight champion provoking the No.3 contender on social media this Saturday.
“Calm down, my son,” Pereira posted on Saturday, alongside a picture of the faceoff between Hill and Prochazka.
“Pass this test and Dad will give you a second chance.”
Hill fights Jiri Prochazka on January 18, with the winner likely booking a title bout against Pereira later in 2025.
Early UFC betting has the fight as a coin toss, with top online bookmakers paying $1.91 for either to win.
This is the first fight between the pair, but both men have already shared the Octagon with the Brazilian and lost.
Hill in particular took exception to Pereira’s comments, based on how their clash in April 2024 unfolded.
“Beat it,” he wrote.
“Funny how you rushed lil’ ass [Khalil Rountree] and dumbass Jiri like you were the man, but waited until the refs got in the way to swing at me.
“Herb stepped behind me and said continue blocking my left side.
“This all happened in four seconds so to say that didn’t play a factor is retarded.
“I accept I should of been more on point, and not showed sportsmanship when I wasn’t given any
“It was dumb on my part, but you learn.
“You will see me again at 100% soon and we both know the fear that was in your heart.”
Hill’s comments refer to a moment in the fight where referee Herb Dean stepped in after it seemed on of Hill’s kicks caught Pereira on the cup.
Pereira dismissed the stoppage, quickly closing the gap and landing a knockout punch.
“On camera he closes the distance during the break cutting off my right side, and Herb steps behind me cutting my left side and says fight,” Hill continued.
“If you [don’t] think that plays a factor with somebody that has power you don’t know fighting.”
