Aidan Sezer returns to NRL with Wests Tigers
The Wests Tigers have confirmed the signing of Aidan Sezer, who will return to the NRL next year after four seasons in the UK Super League.
Tigers assistant coach Benji Marshall said the club was excited to bring the 32-year-old playmaker into the fold for the 2024 NRL season.
“We are very excited to have a player with Aidan’s experience and calibre to add to what we’re building for our future,” he said.
“He’s a very good person and we look forward to what he can bring to our club on and off the field.
“His experience will complement our youth and he’ll help mentor our younger players, particularly in our spine.”
Before the move to England, Sezer played 71 games with the Titans from 2012-15 and 84 games with the Raiders from 2016-19.
He then joined the Huddersfield Giants in 2020 and played 25 games across two seasons before moving to the Leeds Rhinos, where he made another 25 appearances from 2022-23.
The Tigers are looking to change things up after another disappointing season.
Despite a host of big-name signings ahead of the 2023 NRL campaign, Wests sit bottom of the ladder with one round left to play in the regular season.
Top NRL bookmakers have the Tigers pegged as $5.10 outsiders for their round 26 clash with the Sydney Roosters ($1.17) this Saturday at Allianz Stadium.
