AFL Round 11 betting tips, match predictions & best odds
The 2025 AFL Premiership campaign continues with some mega matchups in Round 11, including a blockbuster between the Cats and Dogs in Geelong and a top-four tussle between the Hawks and Lions at the MCG. Read on to see our free AFL betting tips for this week’s games, with odds from the top Australian bookmakers.
Geelong v Western Bulldogs
Thursday, May 22 – 7:30pm AEST – GMHBA Stadium
Geelong have alternated between wins and losses over the past four weeks, so they will be keen to buck the trend with a strong home performance against an in-form Western Bulldogs outfit. The Doggies come in off a big win over Essendon and have saluted on their last two trips to Kardinia Park, so there is some value about the visitors.
Western Bulldogs by 1-39 points
Essendon v Richmond
Friday, May 23 – 7:40pm AEST – Melbourne Cricket Ground
Essendon were brought back to earth in their 91-point loss to the Bulldogs last week, and they’ve only just scraped home in their last two meetings with a rebuilding Richmond side. One bright spot for the Bombers has been rookie half-back Archie Roberts, who has managed 25 or more disposals in his last four games and looks a good play to hit that mark again.
Archie Roberts 25+ disposals
Carlton v GWS Giants
Saturday, May 24 – 12:35pm AEST – Marvel Stadium
These two teams were among the premiership favourites in preseason AFL betting markets, but both are struggling to keep touch with the leading pack as we approach the halfway mark. GWS are missing a heap of midfield talent, so the likes of Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay should get plenty of service. It’s a tough one to call, but the Blues just have to win this at home.
Carlton by 1-39 points
Hawthorn v Brisbane
Saturday, May 24 – 4:15pm AEST – Melbourne Cricket Ground
The Brisbane Lions have a few questions to answer after their home defeat to Melbourne, while Hawthorn are holding steady in the top four despite failing to make a dent against their fellow contenders. The Hawks have won five in a row against the Lions, including two at the MCG, and they look the goods against a Brisbane outfit that’s yet to hit top gear in 2025.
Hawthorn by 1-39 points
North Melbourne v Collingwood
Saturday, May 24 – 7:35pm AEST – Marvel Stadium
This fixture delivered one of the games of the year in 2025, but what will we get this time? Collingwood are humming along nicely atop the AFL ladder despite some tough games in recent weeks, while North Melbourne followed up a gritty draw against Brisbane with a tight win over Richmond. Paul Curtis was flying before his suspension and will be eager to make on instant impact on his return for the Roos.
Paul Curtis 2+ goals
Fremantle v Port Adelaide
Saturday, May 24 – 8:10pm AEST – Optus Stadium
Port Adelaide have lost three in a row and were utterly outclassed in a couple of those games, albeit against strong opposition. Fremantle will be eager to bolster their finals claims with a commanding win at home, but they have lost their last three games against the Power — including two in Perth. Neither team inspires great confidence, but Port at the line looks the play.
Port Adelaide +18.5
Adelaide v West Coast
Sunday, May 25 – 1:10pm AEST – Adelaide Oval
Adelaide have owned West Coast over the last few years, and it is hard to see that changing this time around. The Crows are chasing a top-four spot and will be eyeing another big win at home. Riley Thilthorpe has been a bit up and down on goalkicking form of late, but this looks like the kind of matchup where the Adelaide forward can fill his boots.
Riley Thilthorpe 3+ goals
Melbourne v Sydney
Sunday, May 25 – 3:20pm AEST – Melbourne Cricket Ground
Melbourne have bounced back from a horror start to the season with four wins from their last five games, while Sydney showed signs of life with their victory over Carlton in Round 10. Trent Rivers has been solid in the Demons’ midfield, and while he’s fallen just short of 25 touches in the past two weeks, he offers good value to do it this time at $2.12 with top online bookmakers.
Trent Rivers 25+ disposals
St Kilda v Gold Coast
Sunday, May 25 – 4:40pm AEST – Marvel Stadium
St Kilda will have to lift their game if they wish to compete with the high-flying Gold Coast Suns. Damien Hardwick’s men have seen off the Dogs and Hawks in the past two weeks, while the Saints’ loss to West Coast has wiped out any remaining optimism about their campaign. The Suns lost to Richmond on their last visit to Marvel Stadium, so they will be desperate to make amends with a confident display this Sunday.
Gold Coast -12.5
