AFL: Patrick Cripps pulls clear in Brownlow Medal betting

Patrick Cripps wins 2022 Brownlow Medal
Will 2022 winner Patrick Cripps take out the Brownlow Medal again this year?

Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps stands alone as a $2.50 favourite to win the 2024 Brownlow Medal.

The 2022 winner had been tussling for outright favouritism with Collingwood’s Nick Daicos, who has drifted from $4.25 out to $7.50 with PlayUp in the past fortnight.

Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli has also moved out a touch, going from $5.50 to $6.50.

On the other hand, two stars of the AFL have shortened dramatically in recent weeks.

Two-time Brownlow winner Lachie Neale has come in from $26 to $6.50 since the start of July, due in no small part to Brisbane’s strong run of form.

He and Bontempelli share that quote with Essendon’s Zach Merrett, who was paying $17 after round 16.

Meanwhile, the recent suspension of Sydney star Isaac Heeney appears to have boosted one of his teammates’ Brownlow chances.

Errol Gulden was listed at $17 two weeks back, but the gun wingman is now $7.50 after a heroic display in the Swans’ loss at the Gabba on Sunday.

Fremantle’s Caleb Serong has also found support, firming from $21 into $13 with top AFL bookmakers, while Sydney’s Chad Warner is the best of the outside chances at $29.
