Western Bulldogs v Adelaide Crows match preview

Western Bulldogs can continue their top four hunt when they face Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs ($1.40) are a heavy favourite to win this contest, with the Crows having blown out to almost $3 with Ladbrokes. The line has been set at 15.5 points and will attract plenty of interest.

The Crows suffered their second successive defeat, going down to Geelong by five points on Saturday. In an admirable performance, the Crows led by 10 points early in the final term but faded late, conceding three of the last four goals.

Sitting in 15th spot on the ladder, Matthew Nicks’ side are playing for pride over the last few weeks of the season, but they will be looking to build some momentum for 2025.

There is just one change to the side this week, as star forward Izak Rankine returns from suspension, with rookie Billy Dowling being omitted.

The Bulldogs won their fourth consecutive game last Friday night, beating Melbourne by 51 points at Marvel Stadium. Led by skipper Marcus Bontempelli’s 33 disposals and two goals, the Dogs were dominant from start to finish.

Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has not made any changes to the team, which outpointed the Demons, which is no surprise given they have been backed from around the $20 quote into $6 to win the AFL premiership.

Adelaide v Western Bulldogs tips and betting strategy

Given their current form, it is hard to look past the Bulldogs for this clash. They have beaten three of the top six sides in the last four weeks and they have recently had the edge over the Crows, winning four of their past five meetings. Back the Dogs to cover the handicap of 15.5 points at $1.91 with Neds (Neds review).

With 12 goals in his last five matches, Adelaide forward Ben Keays has been in excellent form to finish the season. The former Lion has kicked multiple goals on eight occasions this year and offers great value to kick two or more goals at $2.50 with online bookmakers.

Despite being let down by his own inaccuracy last Friday, kicking 2.6, Bulldogs key forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan remains one of the most in-form forwards in the AFL. The 2020 number one pick had kicked four goals in each of the previous three weeks and currently sits 10th in the Coleman with 39 goals for the season. Back Ugle-Hagan to continue his great form against the Crows with three or more goals at $2.60 with Bet365.
