AAP writer is Queensland’s top tipster
Australian Associated Press racing journalist Mark Oberhardt has been crowned Queensland’s best tipster.
Oberhardt was one of 16 racing journalists from print, radio, television and website media selected to take part in the competition – UBET Queensland’s Best Tipster.
It was sponsored by UBET and involved $1 being placed on the competitors’ top tip for every Saturday metropolitan race in a calendar year.

Oberhardt finished with a profit for the year of $26.10 with Winning Post’s Joel Marshall second with a profit of $1.40.
They were the only two to finish in the black for the year which covered 425 races.
Oberhardt will donate his prize of $2000 to Hummingbird House which is Queensland’s only hospice for children.
