A-League Week 19 betting, bookmaker specials and multi tips
THE regular season is winding down in the A-League as the finals approach, but other than Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory, no position inside the six is assured.
There is just five points separating the sixth-placed Wanderers and the ninth-placed Mariners, which means all the games over the next five weeks of football are going to have finals-like intensity until those positions are locked away.
All odds for the 19th week of the A-League season were provided by Sportsbet.com.au, which is offering punters a fantastic inducement for those yet to sign up.
New customers can get their first bet at Sportsbet matched up to the value of $501.
Selections for the week 19 A-League multi
Perth Glory to beat Adelaide United ($3.10)
Melbourne City to defeat Brisbane Roar ($2.60)
Western Sydney Wanderers to win against the Central Coast Mariners ($1.45)
Melbourne Victory to beat the Newcastle Jets ($1.91)
Combined multi value: $22.32 @ Sportsbet.com.au
Adelaide United vs. Perth Glory
Friday, February 10 from 7.50 pm AEDST Coopers Stadium, Brisbane
The first leg of our A-League multi sees the Reds of Adelaide hosting Perth Glory in a match that sees the visitors as the outsiders in the market despite being 13 points ahead of their opponents.
The Reds have not won since their shock win against City four matches ago. Their loss last week against fellow strugglers the Mariners may have sealed their wooden spoon fate given they now sit five points adrift of ninth position on the bottom of the ladder.
Perth is looking to string together its third win from four matches. Their last start win against Newcastle was workmanlike and kept them well and truly in the finals race.
The Glory are the outsiders in the market. We are not sure why but we are more than happy to take overs here.
Perth Glory to win – $3.10
Melbourne City vs. Brisbane Roar
Saturday, February 11 from 7.50 pm AEDST, AAMI Park, Melbourne
Two teams that are well and truly in the title hunt meet in the Victorian capital for the second leg of our multi as City host the Roar.
Melbourne City were unlucky to go down against the Victory last week. City found the lead late in the match, but conceded two late goals to go down again to the cross-town rivals.
Brisbane Roar are coming off an upset victory over Shanghai Shenhua on Wednesday night. Will the hectic travel schedule of going to China have a negative impact on the Roar however? We believe it will.
City should bounce back to notch up their first win in three weeks.
Melbourne City to win – $2.60
Western Sydney Wanderers vs. Central Coast Mariners
Sunday, February 12 from 5 pm AEDST, Spotless Stadium, Sydney
The resurgent Western Sydney Wanderers host the Central Coast Mariners for the third leg of our A-League multi.
After a horrendous run of form the Wanderers are hunting for a third win from four matches on Sunday. Their 3-1 win against Wellington away in New Zealand was sensational and just the tonic they needed to get their finals campaign on track.
Central Coast are aiming to win their third straight game after beating Perth and Adelaide back-to-back. Despite being second last the Mariners are just five points adrift of sixth place.
The Wanderers have not lost to the Mariners since 2015 and we are expecting that trend to continue on Sunday afternoon.
Western Sydney Wanderers to win – $1.45
Newcastle Jets vs. Melbourne Victory
Monday, February 13 from 7.50 pm AEDST, McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle
Final leg of our A-League multi sees Newcastle hosting the Victory in a hugely important match for the home side.
The Jets are just one point adrift of the sixth placed Wanderers and need to continue winning if they are to make a late push for the finals. Newcastle were unlucky not to take away at least a point in their five goal thriller against Perth last week.
The Victory are back in town after a bad stretch of form. The big V came back from one goal down to snatch all three points in an exciting Melbourne Derby last week.
Melbourne is looking to extend a great run of form against Newcastle. The Victory has won four of the last five matches against the Jets.
We are backing Kevin Muscat’s men to bring our multi home in style on Monday night.
Melbourne Victory to win – $1.91
