A-League week 14 multi betting – free tips & bookie specials

A-League week 14 multi
THE A-League right now looks to be a two-horse race.

Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory are both starting to gap the rest of the other teams in the competition. The combined win tally for both teams is more than the remainder of the top-six.

Sydney FC ($1.50 at WilliamHill.com.au) and The Melbourne Victory ($3.30 at WilliamHill.com.au) are the only two teams in the competition under double figures to win this year’s minor premiership.

Last week we were let down by the Roar who failed to beat the Jets at home, but astute punters who took advantage of the multi insurance deals did not completely lose out.

This week we think we have a rock solid multi that will get our followers a great return on their A-League investments.

All odds for the 15th week of the A-League season were provided by Sportsbet.com.au, who is offering punters a fantastic inducement for those yet to sign up.

New customers can get their first bet at Sportsbet matched up to the value of $501.

Melbourne Victory vs. Brisbane Roar

Friday, January 13 from 7.50 pm AEDST AAMI Park, Melbourne

Second and fourth on the A-League table clash in the first leg of our multi as the Victory host the Roar at AAMI Park.

The Victory are flying right now and are arguably the hottest team in the league. A win against the Roar on Friday will hand them their six straight win.

The Roar are in dire need of a win. Last week’s loss against the Newcastle Jets was calamitous and could cost them a shot at finishing inside the top-two.

This one looks like a formality on paper. The Victory are a class above the Roar and they should prove it on Friday night.

Melbourne Victory to win – $1.85

Wellington Phoenix vs. Central Coast Mariners

Saturday, January 14 from 5.35 pm AEDST, Westpac Stadium, Wellington, New Zeland

Two teams that have not won in a long time lock horns across the Tasman as Phoenix host the Mariners in Wellington.

The ‘nix have failed to secure all three points from their last four matches. Last time out they failed to capitalise on a lacklustre Glory outfit.

The Mariners are second from the bottom and even at this early stage they are playing out the season in the knowledge that the finals may be out of reach. Central Coast has secured just one point from their last six matches.

The Phoenix have a chance to make up ground on the top six at home and we do not think they will let that opportunity slip.

We are backing the home side to register their first win in five matches.

Wellington Phoenix to win – $1.57

Sydney FC vs. Western Sydney Wanderers

Saturday, January 14 from 7.50 pm AEDST, Allianz Stadium, Sydney

The Sydney showdown is the third leg of our A-League multi as the Sky Blues look to remain undefeated in 2016/17.

Sydney FC were lucky to escape their match against the Mariners with a win after the referee allowed play to continue when it seemed the Central Coast keeper was impeded. The Sky Blues subsequently went on to score the winner.

The Western Sydney has not won in the last five matches. The Wanderers are two points adrift of the sixth placed Jets and need to start winning soon if they are to bridge the gap.

Hard to see how the Sky Blues lose here. They are the vastly superior team and will showcase that talent gulf on Saturday night.

Sydney FC to win – $1.67

Newcastle Jets vs. Perth Glory

Sunday, January 15 from 5 pm AEDST, McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

The plucky Newcastle Jets host the Perth Glory in the final leg of our multi on the NSW coast.

The Jets have won three of their last five matches to put themselves right in the finals mix. Their win last week against the Roar was one of their best performances of the year and showed just how much they have progressed this season.

The Glory bounced back stylishly against the Phoenix last week. The win was their first victory in five weeks and keeps them firmly in the top-six frame.

Newcastle have been terrific over the last month while the Glory have been ordinary. The Jets should keep their terrific run going to finish our multi off in style.

Newcastle Jets to win – $2.40
