A-League soccer betting tips & predictions | Round 28 preview
With just two rounds left in the 2024/25 A-League regular season, the race for the finals spots is on. Below are our free soccer betting tips for all six matches of Round 28.
Macarthur FC vs Melbourne Victory
Friday, April 35 – 7:35pm AEST – Campbelltown Sports Stadium
Sitting four points outside the top six, Macarthur FC have to have a perfect finish to the season if they are any chance of making the finals. They are undefeated in their last four, but against the fifth-placed Melbourne Victory, they enter as slight underdogs with leading A-League bookies. Both teams have gone over the total goals line in four of their last five, so back the trend to continue.
Over 3.5 goals
Brisbane Roar vs Wellington Phoenix
Saturday, April 26 – 3pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium
For two sides who are already eliminated from contention, don’t expect much out of these underachieving teams. However, Brisbane are undefeated in their last two outings and, as favourites, are a great chance to win just their fourth game of the season.
Brisbane Roar to win
Newcastle Jets vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Saturday, April 26 – 5pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium
Undefeated in their last 10 games, the Western Sydney Wanderers are still in the mix for a top-two spot. With the Jets already eliminated, the Wanderers should be far too good in this clash, particularly given they have lost just one of the last 11 meetings, including a 4-1 win back in November.
Western Sydney Wanderers to win
Melbourne City vs Adelaide United
Saturday, April 19 – 7:35pm AEDT – AAMI Park
With a win securing a top-two position, Melbourne City should be far too good for Adelaide United in this clash. However, Adelaide have scored in each of their last eight games, so add both teams to score for extra value.
Melbourne City to win / Both teams to score
Auckland FC vs Perth Glory
Sunday, April 20 – 5pm NZST – Go Media Stadium
With a win securing top spot on the A-League ladder for Auckland FC, this clash with the last-placed Perth Glory has the potential to get ugly. In a matchup between the best defence and the worst attack, back Auckland to keep the clean sheet.
Auckland FC to win to nil
Western United vs Sydney FC
Sunday, April 20 – 5pm AEST – Ironbark Fields
In the most exciting matchup of the weekend, Sydney FC can lock up their finals spot on the road against Western United. Despite the home side sitting higher on the ladder, consecutive losses suggest they are out of form, while Sydney FC have lost just one of their last nine.
Sydney FC to win
