A-League soccer betting

The last few weeks have seen a clear crop of contenders emerge in the 2019/20 A-League campaign. Let’s take a look at the best bets and multi picks for this week’s matches, with odds courtesy of Sportsbet.com.au.

Melbourne Victory vs Perth Glory

7:30pm AEDT Friday, November 29 at AAMI Park, Melbourne

Both these teams are desperate for a win. The Melbourne Victory sit second from bottom following last week’s 3-1 defeat to Adelaide United, while the Perth Glory are only a point better off after copping the same scoreline against Sydney FC. Both sides are paying $2.63 for the win, with the draw offering $3.60.

Brisbane Roar vs Central Coast Mariners

4pm AEST Saturday, November 30 at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

Like the Victory and the Glory, the Brisbane Roar are floundering in the bottom half of the table with one win after seven rounds of football. The Central Coast Mariners have suffered a few heavy defeats in recent weeks, but they bounced back with a 1-0 win over Western United last time out. Brisbane are firm $1.72 favourites at home, with CCM paying $5 for an upset.

Newcastle Jets vs Western Sydney Wanderers

7:30pm AEDT Saturday, November 30 at McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

The Newcastle Jets went into their bye on a two-game unbeaten run, having edged out Western United in their last fixture. The Western Sydney Wanderers made a brilliant start to the season, but their title credentials are in doubt after three games without a win. The Jets are $2.30 at home and the Wanderers are $3.20, with the draw at $3.50.

Western United vs Sydney FC

4pm AEDT Sunday, December 1 at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong

Western United lost only one of their first five games, but consecutive 1-0 defeats have seen the new boys slide out of the top four. Sydney FC have won five out of six games and were excellent in their last-up win over the Glory. The betting is tight with United paying $3 at home, Sydney offering $2.40 and the draw giving up $3.50.

Adelaide United vs Wellington Phoenix

5:30pm ACDT Sunday, December 1 at Coopers Stadium, Adelaide

After narrow losses to Sydney FC and Melbourne City at the start of the season, Adelaide United have flown into third place with four consecutive wins. The Wellington Phoenix broke their duck with a 2-1 result over Brisbane last week, but they remain mired at the foot of the table. Adelaide are the shortest favourites of the round at $1.57, with the Nix at $5.50 and the draw paying $4.50.

A-League Round 8 multi tips

Sportsbet multi odds = $8.94

There is some serious value on offer this week. Chaos ensues whenever the Victory and the Glory meet at AAMI Park, so you can bank on both teams to hit the score sheet. The Jets are a much better team than their record suggests, as their only two losses this term have come against Adelaide and Sydney, while the reigning champions are giving up juicy odds away in Geelong.
