A-League Round 7 betting tips, top odds & predictions
Round 7 of the 2024/25 A-League season continues this weekend with six exciting matchups, headlined by the New Zealand Derby on Saturday afternoon. Here are our top soccer betting tips for every game.
Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City
Friday, December 6 – 6:35pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium
Sitting in last place and winless, there has been very little joy for the Brisbane Roar this season. As they welcome Melbourne City, don’t expect their form to turn around, as the visitors have won two of their last three. With a chance to push up the table, this is an excellent opportunity for City to secure three points.
Melbourne City to win
Auckland FC vs Wellington Phoenix
Saturday, December 7 – 4pm AEDT – Go Media Stadium Stadium
With five wins and zero goals conceded in their first five weeks, Auckland FC are the team to beat in the A-League right now. However, this shouldn’t be a straightforward clash, with Wellington winning three of their last four. In a clash between the two best defences in the A-League, back this game to go under 1.5 goals at $3.20 with leading A-League bookies.
Under 1.5 goals
Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United
Saturday, December 7 – 5pm AEDT – McDonald Jones Stadium
Having an excellent start to the season, Adelaide United are favoured by top soccer bookmakers to continue their unbeaten start against the Newcastle Jets. The Jets have just one win this season but have been kept goalless in just one of their last four games. Meanwhile, Adelaide haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 15 games, so add both teams to score for some extra value.
Adelaide United to win / Both teams to score
Western United vs Macarthur FC
Saturday, December 7 – 6pm AEDT – Ironbark Fields
Coming off a 4-4 draw with the last-placed Roar, Macarthur FC will be hoping for a much better performance against another struggling side. Western United have won just one game this season, but they have been held to a clean sheet on just one occasion. Macarthur should be too good, but with both sides boasting strong attacks and leaky defences, expect plenty of goals.
Macarthur FC to win / Over 3.5 goals
Melbourne Victory vs Perth Glory
Sunday, December 8 – 5pm AEDT – AAMI Park
Melbourne Victory enter as the strongest favourites of the weekend, as they welcome the 12th-placed Perth Glory. The visitors have conceded an average of three goals a game, while remaining winless this season. Victory have been excellent defensively, so don’t expect Perth to trouble the scorers.
Melbourne Victory to win to nil
Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC
Sunday, December 8 – 6pm AEDT – Industree Group Stadium
Coming off a short break due to their AFC commitments midweek, the Central Coast Mariners have won just one of their last 12 matches in all competitions. It doesn’t get much easier, as Sydney FC are fresh off a 4-2 win over the Wanderers. The visitors are favourites with leading A-League betting sites, and given they have scored 12 goals in their last five matches, it could be a dominant win.
Sydney FC to win / Over 2.5 goals
