A-League Round 4 betting preview, top tips & predictions
The A-League season continues this weekend with six matches of Australian top-flight football action. See our top soccer betting tips for round four of the 2023-24 A-League Men campaign.
Melbourne Victory vs Wellington Phoenix
Friday, November 10 – 7:45pm AEDT – AAMI Park
A red-hot matchup kicks off round four as the third-placed Phoenix travel to Melbourne to face the second-placed Victory. With both sides undefeated this season, expect a top-quality contest. Victory come in as the favourites and should be confident of getting a result, as the Phoenix haven’t beaten them in Melbourne since 2017.
Melbourne Victory to win
Western United vs Newcastle Jets
Saturday, November 11 – 3:30pm AEDT – Mars Stadium
The Newcastle Jets will be looking to get their first win of the 2023-24 A-League season when they travel to Ballarat to take on Western United. However, the Jets have only ever beaten Western United twice, most recently in 2020. For United, this is a big opportunity to get their season back on track after losing their last two matches.
Western United to win
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Perth Glory
Saturday, November 11 – 5:30pm AEDT – CommBank Stadium
The undefeated Western Sydney Wanderers will be looking to build on their promising start to the season when they welcome Perth Glory on Saturday. After notching their first win of the season last weekend, the Glory will be confident of pulling off an upset. However, with the home side winning six of the last seven matches between these two, Wanderers are the safer pick.
Western Sydney Wanderers to win
Adelaide United vs Sydney FC
Saturday, November 11 – 7:45pm AEDT – Coopers Stadium
First-placed Adelaide United welcome last-placed Sydney FC on Saturday night. Yet to score a goal this season, Sydney are struggling and the pressure is on to get a result against the top side in the competition. Adelaide should be too strong on this occasion, and in the absence of star youngster Nestory Irankunda due to suspension, look for winger Ben Halloran to be the danger man around goal.
Ben Halloran anytime goalscorer
Melbourne City vs Macarthur FC
Sunday, November 12 – 3pm AEDT – AAMI Park
One of five teams that are still undefeated this season, Macarthur FC head to Melbourne on Sunday to face the dangerous Melbourne City. After earning their first points of the campaign with a 2-0 win against Sydney FC last weekend, City look back to their best. Macarthur have never beaten City, and although they are in good form, this will be a challenge for the NSW outfit.
Melbourne City to win
Central Coast Mariners vs Brisbane Roar
Sunday, November 12 – 5pm AEDT – Industree Group Stadium
Sitting in 11th spot with no points is not the way the Mariners would have liked to start their title defence, but this is a great opportunity to get their first points as they welcome the Brisbane Roar. Coming off a heavy loss to the Phoenix last weekend, the Roar will be eager to bounce back. Both sides have left a lot to be desired in the opening weeks, so a stalemate would be no surprise.
