A League round 10 soccer preview and betting tips | Dec 27 – 29
The 2024/25 A-League season kicks off their packed festive schedule this Friday with six matches across the weekend. Here are our top tips for every game of Round 10.
Adelaide United vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Friday, December 27 – 7:05pm ACDT – Coopers Stadium
In a clash between the two highest scoring teams in the A-League, expect plenty of goals in this game. Four of the Wanderers’ last six games have had over five total goals, while last time these sides met it finished 3-4 in Adelaide’s favour. At $3.20 with top soccer bookies, take this game to have over 4.5 goals.
Over 4.5 goals
Perth Glory vs Macarthur FC
Friday, December 27 – 7:45pm AWST – HBF Park
Despite coming off their first win of the season, Perth Glory are still clear underdogs against Macarthur FC. Scoring just five goals while conceding 24, Perth have the worst attacking and defensive records in the A-League. Last time these sides met Macarthur FC won 6-1, so take the visitors to cover the handicap.
Macarthur -1
Wellington Phoenix vs Newcastle Jets
Saturday, December 28 – 5:00pm NZDT – Sky Stadium
After three consecutive losses, Wellington have now dropped down to ninth on the ladder. However, they are still tipped as the bookmaker favourites against the Jets, who have won just one of their last five games – against the struggling Glory. Wellington should be too strong, but given they’ve conceded eight goals in their last three games, add both teams to score for some extra value.
Wellington Phoenix win / both teams to score
Central Coast Mariners vs Auckland FC
Saturday, December 28 – 5:00pm AEDT – Industree Group Stadium
Coming off their first ever loss, the top-of-the-ladder Auckland FC will be keen to bounce back against the struggling Mariners. Central Coast have struggled to score all season, while the Black Knights have one of the best defensive records in the A-League. At $3.60 with BetOnline, back Auckland to get back to winning ways, while keeping another clean sheet.
Auckland FC to win to nil
Sydney FC vs Melbourne Victory
Saturday, December 28 – 7:35pm AEDT – Allianz Stadium
With just one loss so far this season, the third-placed Melbourne Victory hold the best defensive record in the A-League. They face a tricky clash against Sydney FC, who have won just one of their past five games, but still have plenty of quality. In Sydney a result is tough to pick, so take the under as we tip a cagey affair.
Under 2.5 goals
Western United vs Brisbane Roar
Sunday, December 29 – 5:00pm AEDT – Ironbark Fields
Coming off a dominant 4-0 away win over Auckland FC, Western United are the team to watch right now. Brisbane have conceded two or more goals in all but one game this season, while Western United have scored eight in their last two games, so expect the home team to continue their scoring form.
Western United over 2.5 goals
