A-League Round 25 betting tips

With just two weeks to go in the 2023/24 A-League season, there is still plenty to play for. The top two are level on points in the race for the Premier’s Plate, and up to four teams are fighting for the last finals spot. Below are our free soccer betting tips for all six matches of round 25.

Newcastle Jets vs Wellington Phoenix

Friday, April 19 – 7:45pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium

Sitting in second solely on goal difference, Wellington Phoenix have an excellent chance to put the pressure on the Mariners with a big performance against the 10th-placed Newcastle Jets. They come in as favourites in excellent form, but on the road, they will need to be wary of complacency given the Jets have won their past two matches.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne City

Saturday, April 20 – 3:30pm AEST – CommBank Stadium

The Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City are separated by just one point in sixth and seventh respectively. While at home, the Wanderers come in as underdogs with top soccer bookmakers after losing their past two matches, while Melbourne City come off an 8-0 win last Sunday. City won 7-0 when these teams last met, but given they are winless in their past seven away matches, this should be closer than expected.

Melbourne Victory vs Brisbane Roar

Saturday, April 20 – 5:30pm AEST – AAMI Park

Hoping to secure a home elimination final, Melbourne Victory enter as firm favourites against the Brisbane Roar. Without a clean sheet in their past 18 matches, the Roar have the second-worst defensive record in the A-League, yet they are unbeaten in the past six matches between the sides. With Victory expected to dominate possession, look for A-League top scorer Bruno Fornaroli to continue his stellar season in front of goal.

Macarthur FC vs Sydney FC

Saturday, April 20 – 7:45pm AEST – Campbelltown Sports Stadium

Two sides battling it out for a home final, the fourth-placed Sydney FC head across town to face the fifth-placed Macarthur FC. After their 98th-minute winner over the Wanderers last Saturday, Sydney should be full of confidence. However, Macarthur FC have won the past two matchups between the sides, and given the visitors haven’t won on the road in their past three, the upset offers great value at $4.20 with Bet365.

Central Coast Mariners vs Adelaide United

Sunday, April 21 – 3pm AEST – Industree Group Stadium

Sitting on top of the table, the Central Coast Mariners are on a three-match winning streak as they welcome Adelaide United. While Adelaide have been inconsistent this year, they hold the best attacking record in the A-League. While an upset is unlikely, the Mariners have returned from a midweek clash in Kyrgyzstan, so back both teams to score for extra value.

Perth Glory vs Western United

Sunday, April 21 – 3pm AWST – HBF Park

The bottom two sides in the A-League face off as Western United head across to Perth. Winless in their past eight matches, the Glory have had a terrible second half of the season, yet they enter this clash as favourites with online bookmakers. One positive for Perth this season has been the form of striker Adam Taggart, who sits second in the Golden Boot race and is a strong chance to score against the struggling United defence.
