A-League R19 preview, free betting tips & top soccer odds
The 2023/24 A-League season continues this weekend with six matches of Australian soccer action. Below are our free A-League betting tips for Round 19.
Macarthur FC vs Melbourne City
Friday, March 1 – 7:45pm AEDT – Campbelltown Sports Stadium
Melbourne City have gone winless in their last four matches and now sit four points outside the top six. With the second-worst attacking record in the A-League, they need to turn things around quickly. While Macarthur FC are also on a poor run of form, they still hold the best scoring record this season. Looking to put the pressure on the top two sides, Macarthur offer great value as a home underdog.
Macarthur FC to win
Western United vs Perth Glory
Saturday, March 2 – 5pm AEDT – Mars Stadium
On a run of six matches unbeaten, Perth Glory are making a late push for a finals spot. This weekend they face the last-placed Western United, who have just one win from their past 10 games. Although Glory should be far too good, United have been their bogey side recently, winning five of the past six between the sides. But at +230 odds with Bet365, the visitors offer great value to salute in Ballarat.
Perth Glory to win
Newcastle Jets vs Central Coast Mariners
Saturday, March 2 – 6pm AEDT – McDonald Jones Stadium
Sitting in second place on an excellent run of form, the Mariners will be looking to keep the pressure on top spot as they head down the road to Newcastle this Saturday. Winless in their past five, the Jets have struggled in 2024, sliding down the table to 11th spot. After winning six of the past seven between the sides, the Mariners look set to continue the trend in this one-sided rivalry.
Central Coast Mariners to win
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney FC
Saturday, March 2 – 7:45pm AEDT – CommBank Stadium
It’s a Sydney derby on Saturday night as the fifth-placed Wanderers host the sixth-placed Sydney FC. With just one loss from their past 10, Sydney FC enter this match as the form side, but history states that anything can happen in this fixture. The Wanderers have scored nine goals in their past five games, while Sydney FC have scored in each of their past 13 matches, suggesting that the over is a smart bet.
Over 2.5 goals
Wellington Phoenix vs Adelaide United
Sunday, March 3 – 5pm NZDT – Sky Stadium
Sitting three points clear on top of the A-League table, the Wellington Phoenix are undefeated in 2024. With the Mariners right behind, the pressure is on to keep performing as they welcome the struggling Adelaide United. With just one win from their past nine, United’s finals hopes are shot and they look set for another tough trip this weekend.
Wellington Phoenix to win
Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne Victory
Sunday, March 3 – 4pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium
After starting the season undefeated for the first 15 rounds, Melbourne Victory suffered their second defeat in four weeks last Sunday and have now dropped to third place. After scoring just two goals in their past four matches, Victory should be relishing the opportunity to face the worst defence in the A-League. While the Roar are at home, with just one win from their past seven, they look set to struggle again.
Melbourne Victory to win
