A-League R16 preview, betting tips & best odds | February 9-11
With 10 rounds to go, the 2023/24 A-League season is reaching the business end for many teams as they fight for finals positions. Here are our free soccer betting tips for the six matches this weekend.
Adelaide United vs Perth Glory
Friday, February 9 – 7:15pm ACDT – Coopers Stadium
Following their 4-2 victory over Melbourne City last weekend, Perth Glory have now earned seven points from their past three matches to keep their season alive. On the other hand, Adelaide United come into this match down on form with just one win from their past six matches. Whilst United have the home advantage, backing the Glory for an upset offers great value at $4.33 with Bet365.
Perth Glory to win
Wellington Phoenix vs Western United
Saturday, February 10 – 5:30pm NZDT – Sky Stadium
Sitting on top of the table with the Mariners and Victory right on their heels, Wellington Phoenix face a must-win game this weekend against the last-placed Western United. Despite drawing three of their past four matches, the Phoenix should be far too strong as they extend their lead at the top.
Wellington Phoenix to win
Melbourne Victory vs Macarthur FC
Saturday, February 10 – 5:30pm AEDT – AAMI Park
On a run of four straight 1-1 results, Melbourne Victory continue to fall down the standings despite their undefeated record. However, after the Phoenix and Mariners drew during the week, Victory have the chance to restore their position at the top with their game in hand. Facing Macarthur, who are on a six-match unbeaten run, expect another close game between the two sides with the most draws in the A-League.
Draw
Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City
Saturday, February 10 – 5pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium
Following their 8-1 defeat to City back in December, the Brisbane Roar have plenty to play for despite their poor position on the table. Winless in their past four, the Roar had a slightly improved performance last week as they drew with Wellington. However, facing their bogey side this weekend, it is hard to see Brisbane turning their form around against a superior Melbourne City side.
Melbourne City to win
Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC
Saturday, February 10 – 7:45pm AEDT – Industree Group Stadium
The form side of the A-League right now, the Mariners have worked their way to second on the table after their draw against the Phoenix during the week. Hosting the inconsistent Sydney FC this weekend, we are almost certain to get an exciting, high-scoring clash. However, as the home side sit undefeated in their past 12, it is hard to go against them.
Central Coast Mariners to win
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Newcastle Jets
Sunday, February 11 – 5pm AEDT – CommBank Stadium
Coming off a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to Macarthur FC last weekend, the Wanderers have now dropped out of the top four. Hosting the struggling Jets, they have a great chance to return to form. One of the top defensive sides in the A-League, expect the Wanderers to make this match a cagey affair as they limit the Jets’ chances going forward.
Western Sydney Wanderers / Under 2.5 goals
