A-League Matchweek 15 betting tips, top odds & value picks
The 2021/22 A-League season has officially fallen back into a state of normality, as a second consecutive matchweek will feature 12 teams in the usual six games.
Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar are expected to face off at some point this Sunday, but a time and venue is yet to be confirmed.
Here is a quick summary of the six matches scheduled from Friday to Sunday with all odds provided by Sportsbet.
Melbourne City vs Newcastle Jets
Friday, February 18 at 7:45pm AEDT – AAMI Park, Melbourne
Melbourne City had their way with the Newcastle Jets just over a week ago, as they travelled interstate and came away with a 4-2 victory against the home side. The Jets will be on the road this time around, which they will not mind coming off a 2-1 win against Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park. The home side should get the job done this Friday night, but do not underestimate the revenge-seeking Jets.
Melbourne City to win
Wellington Phoenix vs Sydney FC
Saturday, February 19 at 5:05pm AEDT – Leichhardt Oval, Sydney
Wellington Phoenix are back in town this week and will look to keep their terrific form rolling, but can they steal a victory on the road against Sydney FC? Phoenix have recently turned their season around after winning four of their last five matches, completely flipping their 1-1-4 start. We are backing in the underdogs to make a huge statement against the fourth-placed Sydney FC.
Wellington Phoenix to win
Melbourne Victory vs Central Coast Mariners
Saturday, February 19 at 7:45pm AEDT – AAMI Park, Melbourne
Two of the last four contests between Melbourne Victory and the Mariners have resulted in draws, whilst the other two have both gone in favour of this week’s visitors. The Mariners are coming off two draws whilst Victory have not won any of their last five contests. We think the home side will bounce back and get a win at AAMI Park, as they need to convert this opportunity to stay within reach of the top four.
Melbourne Victory to win
Macarthur FC vs Adelaide United
Saturday, February 19 at 7:45pm AEDT – Campbelltown Sports Centre, Campbelltown
One of the in-form teams of the competition in Adelaide United will travel to Campbelltown to take on Macarthur FC, who have not won a match since December. Although the Bulls have not converted any of their matches into wins, they have come close on a couple of occasions and will start this contest of favourites. We think this match will go down to the wire but will ultimately result in a draw.
Draw
Western United vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Sunday, February 20 at 6:35pm AEDT – AAMI Park, Melbourne
This clash between Western United and the Western Sydney Wanderers will be the third clash at AAMI Park in as many days. United were good enough to knock off the Wanderers 1-0 back when they clashed earlier in the month, which was played in Parramatta. The top-placed Western United squad should shine in their home state against the Wanderers and notch up another victory.
Western United to win
Perth Glory vs Brisbane Roar
Sunday, February 20 – TBD
Regardless of where this match is scheduled, we know the two bottom sides are both desperate for a victory. Glory has arguably been affected the most by the postponements, as they have only been able to play eight matches this season. Although the Roar have not played very well this season, you can just about back them in to knock off Perth for the second time in two months.
