A-League 2021/22 Matchweek 13 betting tips & top odds
The 2021/22 A-League season has been heavily affected by COVID postponements and cancellations, but the fixture is slowly reverting back to normality.
Matchweek 13 comprises four matches from Thursday to Sunday, while there is also a catchup game from Matchweek 7 featuring Western Sydney Wanderers and Western United on Saturday.
Melbourne Victory and the Central Coast Mariners are the only two teams who will not partake in the action, as their respective Matchweek 13 contests were postponed.
Newcastle Jets vs Brisbane Roar
Thursday, February 3 at 7:45pm AEDT – McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle
The Newcastle Jets may occupy bottom position in the standings, but they have scored more goals than most teams in the competition. With 11 goals from just six outings, the Jets are very close to averaging multiple goals per game, while the Roar have only hit the scoreboard seven times this season. The Jets were outclassed by Adelaide United last weekend, but we think they will bounce back and secure an important victory to lift themselves from the bottom of the table.
Newcastle Jets to win
Adelaide United vs Sydney FC
Friday, February 4 at 7:45pm AEDT – Coopers Stadium, Adelaide
The Reds are currently one of the A-League’s in-form teams, having won three of their last five clashes without losing. That recent form has seen United jump into the top three on the table, overtaking Macarthur FC and Melbourne City. Sydney FC is just one point behind the Reds in the standings, and it will be a tough ask travelling to Adelaide to take down home side.
Adelaide United to win
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Western United
Saturday, February 5 at 5:05pm AEDT – CommBank Stadium, Parramatta
Mark Rudan will take over as the Wanderers head coach for the rest of the season, but will he have an immediate impact? It can take time for a coach to implement their strategies to a side, which is why Western United should be too strong for the Wanderers. United currently sits atop the table after impressively knocking off Melbourne City last weekend, and they should fire again on Saturday.
Western United to win
Wellington Phoenix vs Macarthur FC
Sunday, February 6 at 4:05pm AEDT – Campbelltown Sports Centre, Campbelltown
Wellington Phoenix has barely been given the chance to play over the last month, as a majority of its games have been postponed. Macarthur FC is in an even worse position, as its first game of 2022 was only just played on Tuesday at home against Western United. The hosts still managed to come away with a draw against the top side, but the lack of playing time is worrying for both teams here. We think Macarthur’s recent form is enough to warrant a tip, but Wellington will not go down without a fight.
Macarthur FC to win
Melbourne City vs Perth Glory
Sunday, February 6 at 6:45pm AEDT – AAMI Park, Melbourne
The online bookmakers are predicting a very one-sided affair at AAMI Park this weekend, as Perth Glory has blown out to $6 against Melbourne City ($1.47). Patrick Kisnorbo’s men will be disappointed after losing to Western United in Matchweek 12, so they should come out with some intent this Sunday night. We expect the home side to hold nothing back this weekend and register a big win.
Melbourne City -1
