2025 Bahrain Grand Prix betting preview & race tips
The Formula 1 circus returns to the Middle East this week as the 2025 season continue with the Bahrain Grand Prix under the lights of the Sakhir International Circuit.
The action begins with Free Practice 1 at 9:30pm AEST on Friday, April 11. Qualifying takes place at 2am on Sunday, April 13, with the Grand Prix to follow at 1am on Monday, April 14.
This circuit is no stranger to drama, strategy, and high degradation, and with McLaren dominating the grid, the onus is on Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes to close the gap.
Lando Norris (62 points) has taken the early lead in the championship and enters Bahrain one point ahead of Max Verstappen (61 points). Norris’ teammate Oscar Piastri (49 points) is lurking closely behind.
Red Bull remain contenders after their win in Suzuka, but questions linger around their rear end under heavy braking — a known challenge at Sakhir.
Mercedes are trending upwards, with George Russell scoring consistent points and Kimi Antonelli rapidly earning respect in his maiden F1 season. Meanwhile, Ferrari will be hoping the warmer conditions help unlock pace for both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton after a mixed showing in Japan.

Bahrain GP 2025 betting predictions
Oscar Piastri (McLaren) to win
Piastri has been dominant in every race this year, and if he is able to put in a strong lap for all sectors in Q3 at Bahrain, he will begin on pole and prove hard to beat. Piastri has been down in the first sector on his fast laps in both of his last two races but does everything he can after that, going fastest in the last two sectors and just missing pole. A fast lap at full speed will put Pistri on the front row with ease.
Oscar Piastri to win
George Russell (Mercedes) podium finish
Every week Russell is proving why Mercedes put their trust in him to lead the team, with strong outings in each race this year. He was unlucky in Japan after he ran his tyres cold on his last fast lap and began in P5. Mercedes have the pace for the two front rows, and Russell is getting faster with each race.
George Russell podium finish
Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) top-six finish
Tsunoda will be eager to prove he deserves his seat at Red Bull. After a somewhat underwhelming debut and now with a race under his belt, he should have a better understanding of the car and be capable of extracting more pace, potentially qualifying inside the top six and finishing strong during the race.
