2022 World Cup Day 13 betting tips – Saturday, December 3
Saturday morning (AEDT) will mark the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage. While Portugal and Brazil have secured their places in the round of 16, the six other nations in action are all live chances to join them. Here are our best bets for what promises to be a fascinating slate of games.
South Korea vs Portugal
Considering Portugal have already qualified for the knockout round, Joao Felix may have a bigger role in this game than he has so far at this World Cup. We expect Cristiano Ronaldo to be rested in preparation for the knockout phase, and that likely means Felix will play striker. Against South Korea’s porous defence, that is a valuable position. Portugal still have enough talent in their backup team to create chances and Felix is a capable goalscorer. Take the Atletico Madrid man to score a goal, as these odds should get shorter closer to game time.
Joao Felix anytime goalscorer
Ghana vs Uruguay
Uruguay have struggled more than expected in this tournament, but if they win this game, they will likely advance to the round of 16. While Ghana won’t make it easy, Uruguay should win based on talent. Guys like Darwin Nunez and Luis Suarez have yet to make a big impact in this year’s World Cup, but they should show out here. Uruguay are simply too talented to lose in the knockout round, and while it may be stubborn, we are still backing La Celeste.
Uruguay to win
Serbia vs Switzerland
These are two middling European teams and there isn’t a lot to separate them, but we are taking the Swiss. They have a great defence and they should lock down a talented Serbian attack. While Switzerland have been inconsistent offensively, Serbia have a rough defence and they conceded three times to a Cameroonian team that didn’t come close to scoring against the Swiss.
Switzerland to win
Brazil vs Cameroon
Brazil have already advanced into the round of 16 and it’s unclear what sort of team they will put out there. If Vinicius Junior doesn’t start, this bet will be voided; however, if he does start, he has the pace to exploit a poor Cameroon defence. While the Real Madrid star is yet to score in this World Cup, he has been a great fill-in for the injured Neymar and is consistently creating opportunities. If he starts in this game, Vini will once again be Brazil’s main man in attack, and this is a game where Brazil could score in bunches. Take Vini to score at +175 with Marantelli Bet, as this line will get shorter if it’s announced he’s is in the starting lineup.
Vinicius Junior anytime goalscorer
