The Saturday afternoon clash in South Australia is one of the week’s best games on offer round 10 of the 2019 AFL Premiership season.

An in-form Adelaide Crows outfit will host the reigning premiers, the West Coast Eagles, at Adelaide Oval.

Being the Sir Doug Nicholls Round, the spotlight will be on the likes of Eddie Betts and Willie Rioli – two of the game’s most exciting indigenous players.

The Eagles have got into a winning habit with three straight victories to their name and now sit in sixth position on the ladder.

If not for last week’s one-point defeat to the Lions, the Crows would have won their past five matches.

LATEST ADELAIDE CROWS ODDS

The home field advantage is always beneficial for a non-Victorian side such as Adelaide, but West Coast do not mind the City of Churches, winning seven out of nine matches at Adelaide Oval.

Lewis Jetta is one of the league’s most prolific ball-users coming out of defence, but the Eagle will sit out this match after receiving a one-match suspension for a dangerous tackle.

The winner of this match will go a step closer to the top four, whilst the loser could see themselves sitting outside the eight by the round’s conclusion.

Adelaide vs West Coast total goals betting

Adelaide Crows over 11.5 goals @ $1.74 at Sportsbet
The only factor that could stop the Crows from reaching this target would be if the rain completely blankets the ground. We do know that it will be wet, which will affect the skills of the taller and aerial players, but Adelaide have experts at ground level such as Eddie Betts and Lachlan Murphy.

West Coast Eagles under 10.5 goals @ $1.95
The towering combination of Jack Darling and Josh Kennedy was exposed back in round five against the Power, who thumped the reigning premiers in the rain. The Eagles collectively kicked eight goals, with Kennedy and Darling combining for just one, which was kicked by Kennedy. Under the same conditions, do not expect West Coast’s marking game to work as it has in the past.

MORE WEST COAST EAGLES ODDS

Crows vs Eagles player disposals tips

Rory Sloane to get 30 disposals @ $2.63 at Sportsbet
The Crows’ skipper is a lead-by-example type of player that goes hard at the footy, one you would refer to as a ‘wet weather specialist’. Sloane is unfazed by the conditions and wins the hard ball regardless, which he will do well this week against the Eagles.

Elliot Yeo to get 25 disposals @ $1.80
Looking at the midfield for West Coast, it is easy to identify the outside players such as Gaff and Sheed, but the main grunt of the on-ballers comes from Elliot Yeo. He has played very well this season with multiple matches above 25 disposals, which is the number he will crack again this week.

Adelaide vs West Coast top goalscorer bets

Eddie Betts to kick three goals
The scene has been set – Sir Doug Nicholls Round in the rain. Eddie Betts will sleep like a baby the night before this clash knowing he will play like a champion once the ball is bounced (or thrown up, due to the weather). Betts has kicked many goals during the indigenous round in the past and will be a huge problem for Adam Simpson’s Eagles this Saturday.

Adelaide Crows vs West Coast Eagles match predictions

Match result: Adelaide Crows to win @ $1.64 at Sportsbet
Line betting: Adelaide Crows -8.5 @ $1.90

The Crows love their home deck and will pounce on the Eagles early, exposing the absence of Lewis Jetta with their excellent forward pressure.
