Saturday, 28th April, 2:10 pm AEDT, 2018, Etihad Stadium, Watch on Fox Sports Network.

The North Melbourne Kangaroos will attempt to fight off the unpredictable Port Adelaide Power at Etihad Stadium this Saturday afternoon.

After a blistering start to the season, Brad Scott has found his Roos sitting in fourth position on the ladder, a genuine shock to even the most optimistic fan.

After a hot start to the year, Port Adelaide‘s last fortnight has put a serious dent in its premiership aspirations. The Power’s last two games — losses to Essendon and Geelong when starting favourites — have exposed the same weaknesses that plagued the side last year.

This game is a genuine head-scratcher. On paper, the Power should easily be able to beat the Roos, given their stronger list and deeper spread of star players, but North plays Etihad Stadium well and are a team playing with confidence and belief.

Shaun Higgins will unfortunately miss the encounter due to the bump he received last week that left the midfielder concussed.

Lindsay Thomas will miss the game due to a brain fade — and a mistimed short-front — which resulted in three weeks suspension. Power veteran Hamish Hartlett soldiered on after copping a hospitalising-hit from Patrick Dangerfield last week. Hamish was so tough that he played out the game, but was ill-fated after a suspected ACL injury at training ended his 2018 campaign during the week.

With the winner of this match up in the air, here are our tips to build upon the excitement.

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs. Port Adelaide Power Round 6 – Total Points tips

North Melbourne Kangaroos

70.5 Over/Under – Over @ $1.30 with CrownBet

Sitting inside the top four after five rounds, North Melbourne has proven they may not be the cellar dweller many expected. The Roos’ forward line is one of the best going around, boasting one of the best forwards in the game, Ben Brown. With an average of 86 points per game, we can see the Roos easily kicking over 70 in this game.

Port Adelaide Power

110.5 Over/Under – Under @ $1.33 with Crownbet

There’s one thing that isn’t going too well for the Power and it’s the forward line’s impact on close matches. We expect North Melbourne to make the Power work for this one. North’s backline is currently leading the league in the most import statistic, points against. Ken Hinkley’s men will need to really put the foot down if they plan to score over 110.

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs. Port Adelaide Power Round 6 – Any Time Goal Scorer tips

Robbie Gray @ $1.20 with William Hill

The one asset of Robbie Gray’s game that is below his illustrious standards so far this season is his goal kicking. In the last two weeks, Robbie was clearly Port’s best player on the ground and we believe it could just be the start of some better, goal-kicking form. The $1.20 to kick atleast one goal is a multi moral.

Jed Anderson @ $1.85 with William Hill

Jed Anderson has been a surprise packet for the Shinboners since returning to the side. Jed accumulates the ball mainly in the forward half and with the tackling pressure he exerts, we think he will be able to cause a turnover and convert a goal.

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs. Port Adelaide Power Round 6 – Margin tips

Either team to win by less than 39.5 points @ $1.30 with Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes has provided a 40-point barrier for both sides, which is more than enough to complete the deal. North will be very competitive keep the game close and perhaps push for a win. Football has been low scoring these last few weeks, leading to smaller winning margins for the games. With this information in mind, we suspect that the game will be within a few goals, meaning you can bet upon the 40 points.

Kangaroos vs. Power Match Predictions

Match Result: Port Adelaide to win @ $1.53 with Sportsbet
Line betting: North Melbourne +11.5 @ $1.92 with Sportsbet

We have to go with the Power this week due to its star players and desperate need for a win. When you look across both sides, Port have better players that are known match-winners. We suspect a close game at Etihad that will be hard to predict all the way until the fourth quarter.
