THE evergreen Filipino Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao travels to Australia and puts his WBO welterweight title on the line against Jeff “The Hornet” Horn in what is one of the most eagerly anticipated bouts down under in recent memory.
Forget the hype/snoozefest of Mundine vs. Green II, this is a legitimate fight which will generate serious coverage all over the world.
While Pacman’s focus is on politics more so than boxing these days, there is still an argument to be made that he is the most dangerous welterweight on the planet right now.
Although he may not spend the hours in the gym that he previously did, Pacquaio boasted a successful 2016 which saw him defeat Timothy Bradley Jr and Jesse Vargas – two top-tier athletes in the sport.
Tell you what, Pacman still looking aigghht for his age. Has Bob indicated if after Horn he will face someone legit ?

Horn comes into the fight as the underdog – and rightfully so – but he is not without a chance against the 38-year-old living legend. The Hornet is younger, bigger and has a significant reach advantage over his opponent.
On paper the gulf in class between the two is hard to ignore, but boxing is one of the most unforgiving sports in the world. It only takes one bad performance to end your career.
Can Horn extend his win streak to 14? Or will the Pacman chew him up and spit him out?
Punters hammer Horn ahead of Pacman bout
PUNTERS are rallying around home-town hero Jeff Horn ahead of his historic bout against boxing legend Manny Pacquiao this Sunday.
95 percent of the bets placed at Sportsbet.com.au on the head-to-head market of the fight have been placed on Horn, who has subsequently been moved into +375.
Pacquiao remains the red-hot favourite to secure the win at the $1.20 quote, despite holding just five percent of all investments placed.

In terms of methodology of victory, Horn to win by KO/TKO is the most popular investment at $7.50, which is holding more money than Pacquiao to win by KO and on points combined.
One Sportsbet.com.au punter is right in Horn’s camp, placing a $3,250 bet on him to KO Pacquiao at $9.20.
Sportsbet.com.au representative Christian Jantzen joked the only company may be cheering on the Pacman given what is at stake.
“Punters only want to back Jeff Horn. So much so, we might have to be unpatriotic and cheer against the Aussie,”
Fight Preview
Does Horn have a true shot at defeating Pacquiao here, or is it just a pipedream for the Aussie boxer?
While it is true that Pacman is coming into the twilight of his career, he is still one of the best boxers on the planet. The WBO welterweight title that he will put on the line Sunday afternoon will attest to that.
Having said that, it just takes one moment in combat sports for the entire dynamic of a bout to change. Given he has a youth and height advantage, Horn can capitalise when it matters, he is capable of causing an upset.
The only problem is, he would have to do it against arguably one of the greatest to ever don the gloves.
This is as genuine no-loss fight for Horn. Win, and he is anointed as the next big thing in world boxing. A loss does little to dent the perception of the Brisbane native however, given few are favouring the 29-year-old.
Pacquaio is still performing at a high level and beating world-class boxers, while Horn’s best victories have come over an over-the-hill Randall Bailey and Ali Funeka; both of whom, to put it kindly, are not even close to Pacman’s level.
Despite the market confidence in Horn that he can cause a mammoth upset, we just do not see Pacman going down in this fight. He is too savvy, too stylish and frankly the far more polished performer compared to his Aussie opponent.
pacman versus jhorn\ if horn was good i would back him. but i heard no brilliant reports about him. so whats the point in supporting a fraud

We expect Pacquiao to easily account for Horn, cash the $10 million cheque and head back home victorious.
