Richmond and Melbourne will do battle under the bright lights of the MCG on ANZAC eve in what is fast-becoming one of the biggest home and away matches of the AFL season.

More than 85,000 fans are expected to pack out the home of football in a game that has never failed to live up to the hype thus far.

After an insipid showing last week, most football pundits are giving Melbourne very little chance of victory, but we know that in the emotional blockbuster that honours Australia’s fallen troops, anything is possible.

It’s round five and Simon Goodwin is still without his co-Captain Jack Viney and key position swingman Tom McDonald. These are truly significant injuries that have taken a toll on the squad.

The Tigers are at the top of their game. Everything seems to be going smoothly at Punt Road in their premiership defence. After last week’s 93 point thrashing of the Brisbane Lions, Richmond is in fine form coming into this match.

Richmond will be without premiership star, Daniel Rioli, who is still recovering his foot, Jack Graham through suspension and mystery surrounds Josh Caddy and Nick Vlastuin, who have been ruled out with undisclosed injuries.
