Wednesday, July 12 2017 – 7:30pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

THE third and final game of the 2017 State of Origin series is finally upon us and the search for statehood supremacy will finally be settled on Wednesday.

It is Queensland which takes the momentum into game III after their unfathomable come-from-behind victory over NSW, but the home side will not be without their headaches going into the mid-week match.

Superstar playmaker Johnathan Thurston has been ruled out of the series following a shoulder injury he persevered through to help seal his state’s series defining win over a fortnight ago.

Conversely, inspirational Rooster and NSW skipper Boyd Cordner is “100 percent” fit to play on Wednesday after missing a number of weeks for the Tricolours.

The gun 25-year-old said entering origin camp over a week ago has given him the mental fortitude to believe his body will be able to handle the entire 80 minutes.

“It’s a lot easier being in camp because you have that 24-hour access to the physios and everything that’s provided here which is handy,” Cordner said on Monday.

“It just puts the ball back in my court. It’s been stressful mentally, but in regards to recovery and rehab and having everything there for me, it’s been unreal.

“I did the whole session yesterday (Sunday) and it has given me more confidence.”

Boyd Cordner is the +1300 outsider at WilliamHill.com.au to be awarded Man of the Match honours.

For Wednesday night we are looking to extract the maximum return we can from the origin decider, and the best possible way to do that is by utilising Sportsbet.com.au’s same game multi. The online bookmaker is running a special on the match which makes the decision to invest even simpler.

Billy Slater Anytime Try-scorer

The stage looks set at Suncorp for Billy the Kid to run rampant and ensure the plate remains in his state.

After missing the opening game through non-selection, Slater was dynamic in game II, helping inspire his team to a brilliant win to square the ledger. The Melbourne fullback was many pundit’s choice for man of the match.

Not only is he a brilliant playmaker, but the 34-year-old is also a scoring machine at the representative level.

In just two of his seven series in the Maroon has Slater failed to score a try. We are backing the Storm superstar to cross the chalk at any point on Wednesday to help secure a series win.

Queensland Line Bet +1.5

After what could have been the greatest comeback in Origin history, Queensland is looking to finish the job in emphatic fashion on Wednesday night.

In deciding games over the past three years, Queensland has won by an incredible combined total of 80 points. This highlights just how clutch the Maroons are when everything is to play for and how they dominate the important moments of Origin.

The line is only slender given there is not expected to be much between the two sides but we believe the home side will wipe the floor with the visitors. Take the line on Queensland here and don’t look back.

Race To Ten Points – Queensland

The Maroons will be out to make a statement early on Wednesday night at Suncorp and we think it spells trouble for the Blues. Over game one and two NSW has skipped out to early leads and Queensland have had to peg them back, we do not think this will be the case in the decider.

Expect the Maroons to add some early scoreboard pressure on the Blues as the wily veterans look to push the tempo on the under pressure young visitors. Queensland will look to score first and from there the floodgates could open, which would be diabolical for NSW but beneficial for our bank balance.
