Two teams with plenty of history come together this Sunday at the MCG when the Hawthorn Hawks take on the Melbourne Demons.

The contest has drawn attention from punters and bookmakers alike in what is being dubbed the match of the round.

The clubs, which almost merged at the end of the 96 season, go head-to-head on what is being forecast as a windy day in Melbourne.

With Tom Mitchell now the Brownlow favourite paying $4.00 at Sportsbet, the Hawks have one of the best midfields in the comp. Melbourne also have plenty of quality players, including star ruckman Max Gawn who has once again taken his game to the next level.

The Demons would have been undefeated if not for a late miss that cost them the game in round one against Geelong. Other than that blemish, the Demons have been one of the best teams in 2018.
