The Fremantle Dockers will have the honours of being the first home team at Optus Stadium for one of the greatest rivalries in football.

The West Coast Eagles are currently second on the ladder and are the only team that has won four straight games so far. They will be looking to extend the winning-streak to five and get one step closer to an unlikely finals berth.

Ladder positions and form are completely disregarded leading up to the derby matches, as it’s been proven many times in the past, either team can win no matter the circumstances.

Fremantle will enter the game quietly confident after its first percentage-boosting victory last week against the Bulldogs.

West Coast sits equal first on the ladder and continues to surprise the competition. Nic Naitanui is only playing 60% game time, but the Eagles have managed to win the ruck contest overall in every match. In addition to their ruck dominance, Eagles spearhead Josh Kennedy is back and fully fit, giving the Eagles more options going forward.

Debutant Jake Petruccelle will turn heads with his exciting dash in the forward line. The fastest player in last year’s draft class went at pick 38. Jake will make an immediate impact for the Eagles and really get the crowd buzzing with his brave style of play.

The derby has always supplied great value for money in terms of excitement and quality football, let’s see how much value we can squeeze out of this match. Here’s our tips.

Fremantle Dockers vs. West Coast Eagles Round 6 – Total Goals tips

Fremantle Dockers

11.5 Over/Under – Over @ $1.72 with Sportsbet

Last week the Dockers kicked 16 goals and 12 behinds. Replicating the same technique in this match will be the key to kicking the 12 goals. Michael Walters led the way with a huge bag of five in the victory, if Michael can continue this form, we can see the Dockers easily kicking 12 goals.

West Coast Eagles

12.5 Over/Under – Over @ $1.74 with Sportsbet

Josh Kennedy was very quiet against the Blues and only managed five touches for the entire game. The Coleman medallist doesn’t play two bad games in a fortnight. We expect the superstar to kick multiple goals and help the Eagles hit the 13 majors. West Coast has kicked the most goals in the league with 15 per game, a very healthy total.

Fremantle Dockers vs. West Coast Eagles Round 6 – Race to tips

Race to 5 behinds

West Coast Eagles @ $1.75 with Ladbrokes

Just because the Eagles have kicked the most goals in the competition thus far, it doesn’t mean they’ve been accurate. Last week they kicked 19 behinds, the equal highest amount that round, tied with GWS. If they get off to a hot start, but begin to miss set shots, this bet will become an option for anyone looking for some extra cash.

Race to 50 Points

West Coast Eagles @ $1.62 with Ladbrokes

If Adam Simpson can get his team to play with the same intensity as they have in the past month, getting to 50 first will be one of the easiest feats of the game. The Eagles can move the ball quicker and only have a few players to nullify before they can take over the contest. We expect the Eagles to get to 50 within the first half.

Fremantle Dockers vs. West Coast Eagles Round 6 – Ross Glendinning Medal tip

Nic Naitanui @ $11.00 with William Hill

The talk in the media during the week has been deafening in WA, will there be a medal and what will it be named? Aside from the unnecessary drama leading into the match surrounding who’s name is on the award, the winner of the medal will be Nic Naitanui in our eyes. Nic has stated that he wants more game time and we think he will spend this extra time in the forward line and kick a few goals, cementing his position as the medallist for the day.

Dockers vs. Eagles Match Predictions

Match Result: West Coast Eagles @ $1.70 with CrownBet
Line Betting: West Coast Eagles -6.5 @ $1.92 with CrownBet

This match will be very close and both teams have a shot at winning. Unfortunately for Fremantle fans, we just cannot see the Dockers breaking the winning-streak of the Eagles. West Coast by over a goal.
