Thursday, 28th June, 7:20 pm AEST, 2018, Etihad Stadium, watch on the Seven Network and on the Fox Footy Network.

The Sydney Swans will make the trip down to Melbourne to take on the Richmond Tigers at Etihad stadium this Thursday night.

The top-of-the-table clash has drawn attention around the country and has all the makings of being the match of the year to date.

Both sides are coming off the bye and will be fresh and ready to go to war in what many believe could be a precursor to the 2019 Grand Final.

In recent history between the two sides it has been the Swans who have gotten the best of the Tigers. The last time Richmond was able to beat John Longmire’s men was in an after-the-siren thriller in Round 8, 2016 when Sam Lloyd converted truly in a classic.

Whoever wins this match will sit atop the AFL ladder and be in a prime position to finish their season in that same position.

With all the formalities out of the way, here are our tips for the pivotal match between the Richmond Tigers and the Sydney Swans.

Richmond Tigers vs. Sydney Swans Round 15 – Race to Tips

Race to 15 Points

Richmond Tigers @ $1.67 with Ladbrokes

Richmond possess an impressive ability to score quickly when it has momentum. The Tigers have been able to start games strongly and its powerful midfield has the ability to get a jump on the Swans in front of a full house at Etihad Stadium and win that race to 15.

Race to 6 behinds

Sydney Swans @ $2.26 with Ladbrokes

The odds are in favour of the Tigers, but we see the Swans kicking more behinds then Richmond. Innaccuracy has plagued the Swans in the past and despite all logic towards the contrary, teams seem to struggle more within the perfect conditions Etihad provides under the roof.

Richmond Tigers vs. Sydney Swans Round 15 – Player Goals Tips

Jack Riewoldt to Kick 2 Goals @ $1.40 with William Hill

For this Thursday night match, we foresee an old-school shoot-out from the two big-name forwards, Jack Riewoldt and Lance Franklin. Riewoldt will lead the charge for the Tigers and at least kick two majors in this match. In the past three months, Riewoldt has kicked 30 goals, the equal fifth highest in the league, tied with underrated Collingwood talent Will Hoskin-Elliot. The second-best scoring side will have Jack leading the way this week with his marking capacity and ability to finish in front of goal.

Lance Franklin to kick 3 Goals @ $1.60 with William Hill

The big man hasn’t failed to let us down this season and we think he will kick a bag once again. Injury has slowed Franklin down a bit, compared to previous seasons, but if history tells us anything, it’s that the Swans star loves playing on this ground and a mouth-watering match-up against Alex Rance awaits.

Richmond Tigers vs. Sydney Swans Round 15 – Total Match Points Tips

160 Total Points Over/Under

Under @ $1.85 with CrownBet

This match could be a very low scoring affair due to the extremely defensive tactics of both coaches, who favour a high-pressure, defence first mindset. This match will be low-scoring if the ball movement across half back is sluggish, which we think it may be due to a more cautious approach to avoid the intercept ability of either Alex Rance or Dane Rampe.

Tigers vs. Swans Match Predictions

Match Result: Richmond Tigers to win @ $1.60 with Sportsbet
Line Betting: Sydney Swans +9.5 @ $1.92 with Sportsbet

Richmond is a quality line up and we think they will get the chocolates here. The Swans play Etihad well and we’re tipping an absolute thriller in which Sydney cover the 9.5-line.
