Jockey dies from a race fall in Darwin

A second female jockey is dead in as many days after she fall during race in Darwin on Saturday.

Melanie Tyndall, 32, who is also a police officer, had been riding at Fannie Bay when it is understood her horse fell, and later died in hospital on Saturday night.

It comes just a day after apprentice jockey Mikaela Claridge died from injuries suffered in a trackwork accident in Victoria.
